The Pilot Mountain State Park trails are just spectacular this time of year. After a short drive up 52 North to the Pilot Mountain State Park exit take a right at the end of the ramp and go less than 1 mile, turn right on Julius Tucker Rd and Bregman’s Trail Riding and Stables is located on the left. Bregman’s Trail Riding and Stables offers guided Trail rides for the young and old from 9 to 99 years of age. If you have no riding experience or if you have not even seen a horse up close, this is the place for you. For the seasoned rider, Bregman’s Trail Riding and Stables has many different trails for your enjoyment. Bregman’s Trail Riding and Stables has trained World and National Champions for over 25 years. They are very professional and provide their guest with a safe and enjoyable ride. Riders are greeted by the friendly staff and introduced to the Horse selected just for them and each individual in their party. Riders receive a riding lesson and hands on instructions before hitting the popular 1 and ½ hour ride. Pilot Mountain is a unique bit of Natures Beauty. There are many opportunities for some great pictures along the trails of Riders and their Horses providing lasting memories of their adventure. It is a State Park and the equine bridle trails are safe and well maintained. Once used as mail routes they ramble up and down the foothills and across streams. There is much history in the area. Historical Horn Creek Farm is located at the end of the Trail. It is a 19th century restored functioning farm providing a unique opportunity to learn about our rural past. After being in the saddle, many enjoy strolling through the streets of downtown Pilot Mountain for a bite to eat or a good cup of coffee at one of the coffee shops or restaurants. There’s shopping and antiquing as well. Mount Airy, the Home of Andy Griffin from the famous Andy Griffin show is also a short drive from Bregman’s Trail Riding and Stables continuing up 52 North for about 15 miles. There are Museums, History, Books, Bakeries and Art to enjoy. There are many area Wineries offering tours and wine tastings a short distance from Bregman’s Trail Riding and Stables, another great way to wrap up the day after a Trail Ride.
